Zeiss Ikon Erni

The Erni was the bottom of the Ernemann line. It was a line of box cameras for plates or filmpacks, with simple lenses and shutters. Only two sizes were carried over to the Zeiss catalog, the 4.5 x 6cm which became the 27, and the 6.5 x 9cm which became the 27/3. The 9 x 12cm and a stereo version may have been sold, but would likely have been old Ernemann stock. The market for box style plate and filmpack cameras was already in decline at the time of the merger, and the line was discontinued in 1930.
