Zeiss Ikon Contarex Professional
The Contarex Professional is usually found in
worn condition
The Professional was introduced in 1967 as a replacement for the Contarex
Special. It was the first of the new body style. It was last Contarex SLR without a built-in
meter. The prism finder was fixed, as would be all Contarex finders to follow. Available only
in chrome finish, it was discontinued in 1968 after only 1500 were produced.
Actual Production ran from June 1966 until March 1967.
Serial numbers run in on continuous batch from K45001 to K46500. It was
given the product code 10.2700.
