Zeiss Ikon Contessamatic E and Contessamatic

When Zeiss reintroduced the Contessa 35 in 1960, it was joined by two models of Contessamatic. The Contessamatic E was the most full featured of the three. It had a coupled rangefinder, plus a built in exposure meter with meter readouts in the finder and on the top. The lens was a 50/2.8 Tessar in Prontor SLK Special shutter. The product code was 10.0645 and the cost was $125 in 1961. It was produced from 1960-63.

The Contessamatic was the next step down. It lacked the rangefinder and the meter could only be read from the top. It. too, came with a 50/2.8 Tessar in Prontor SLK Special shutter. The product code was 10.0634 and the cost was $105 in 1961.It was only produced from 1960-61.
