25/4 Zeiss Topogon for Contax
The 25/4 Topogon, with caps and box.
The 25/4 Topogon lens was actually designed in 1933, but was not produced until 1950 by the East
German Zeiss Jena. The lens was a difficult lens to build, with thin highly curved elements. This
is a very difficult lens to find.
The 25/4 Topogon, with caps and box.
Apparently a handful of these lenses were made before World War II, probably prototypes or pre- production lenses., of which two are now known (numbers 1503267 and 2540376). A few lenses (probably very late examples were marked Aus Jena, and some have the focal length marked 4/25mm.
