Canon Canonflex R2000

The original Canonflex was replaced by two models in June 1960, the RP and the R2000. The R2000 was the better of the two. It is almost identical to the original Canonflex, the one difference is that the top shutter speed was 1/2000. This was the fastest shutter speed on any 35mm SLR camera at that time. The clip on meter was modified for this model, having the 2000 speed added. This model was available in black, with a matching black meter. Black examples are very difficult to find.

The R2000 was discontinued in January 1962 after a production run of about 8800.

The camera in chrome, with it's original box. I have yet to see one in black (other than photos).
