The 115 Panflex Tessar was designed especially for the Panflex reflex housing, upon which it would focus from three feet to infinity. It was introduced in 1954, and the optical design was also used as the bellows lens for the Contarex system. It was a lens that sold poorly in Contax mount. Of the 1550 that were built, only about one third were mounted for the Panflex.
