Voigtlander and Zoomar jointly developed this lens as the first zoom lens designed for a 35mm still camera. It was initially designed for the Voigtlander Bessamatic, but was also available in a variety of mounts, including Exakta. Although reasonably common in Voigtlander mount, it is rare in other mounts.
